  • After weeks of research, GameSpot AU's final feature for the year--Air Play--appears on site in November 2008 and explores the effect music games have taken on the music industry.
  • October 16 saw arguably the team's biggest Crosshairs episode ever go to air. Not only did GameSpot AU corner Cliff Blezinski while he's in Sydney, but also chatted to Ubisoft Montreal's Lous-Pierre Pharand about Far Cry 2, and Violition's Sean Kennedy who works on Red Faction 3.
  • In October 2008, GameSpot AU Editor Randolph Ramsay heads to Japan to join the GameSpot global team in covering the Tokyo Game Show 2008. Some of the show's big announcements include Tekken 6 coming to Xbox 360, a No More Heroes sequel, and new Halo 3: ODST news
  • Associate Editor Dan Chiappini headed to LA and joined the global GameSpot team for coverage around BlizzCon 2008 in October 2008 - One of the world's largest gamer meetups and competition events.
  • In August 2008, GameSpot AU sponsors the World Cyber Games finals at Luna Park in Sydney. Players turn out in force to show their gaming mettle.
  • In July 2008, GameSpot AU launched Crosshairs - The team's weekly video news roundup, showcasing the latest news, game previews and interviews from the Australian and global gaming communities.
  • GameSpot AU partnered with Dendy Films in February 2008 to promote "The King of Kong" across Australia and offer promotions and benefits to GameSpot AU readers.
  • In April 2008, GameSpot AU was awarded Best New Title and Best Reviewer for Associate Editor Dan Chiappini at the 2008 Sun Microsystems IT Journalism Awards
  • The Australian audience for GameSpot AU has increased by nearly 40% since its local launch in September 2006.
  • In August 2007, GameSpot AU launched SpotOn!, an official GameSpot AU blog focussing on Aussie gaming.
  • In June 2007, the GameSpot AU team introduced “OzSpot”, a weekly podcast for Aussie gamers which has evoked a huge response.
  • GameSpot AU arranged its own five test tournament against GameSpot UK, which it broadcast as video during the Ashes. GameSpot AU won 3-2!
  • GameSpot AU partnered with the Sydney Opera House for the Australian launch of PLAY! in June 2007 as well as other organisations including the IEAA, GDAA, Supanova Pop Culture Expo and eGames and Entertainment expo.
