In an industry first, ZDNet Australia partnered with Allure Media to deliver a live broadcast panel event called TechLines, which revolved around the theme "Email is Dead". The web TV show debuted on ZDNet Australia on August 12 achieving a peak live audience of 2,000 and over 7,000 total views. The debate sparked conversation among the Twitterati, with over 750 tweets from the #tlines hash tag on event day.
IT Jounrno Awards: At the 6th Annual IT Jounrno awards, the ZDNet Australia and the CBS Interactive Australia team walked away with a number of awards.
In October 2007, ZDNet Australia partnered with Sky News to present an election debate between Senator the Hon. Helen Coonan and Senator Stephen Conroy. The debate was web cast live on ZDNet Australia and complemented by a comprehensive election feature focusing IT and telecommunications issues.
