Aussie TV fans switch on to TV.com!

Australia joins forces with the world's biggest TV site offering all new local content, talent and news in a web space where the fans run the show

SYDNEY, 1 October 2008 - Bringing the TV guide and coffee table conversation to the desktop, CBS Interactive has launched TV.com (www.tv.com) in Australia today, adding new Australian content, forum discussions, competitions and local celebrity interviews to the global site that brings fan favourites from House to Heroes to the fingertips of TV lovers worldwide.

Joining the site's show spaces for programs like Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Family Guy and more, will be a huge variety of current and past Australian TV shows for Australian fans to discuss and dissect - everything from Underbelly and Home and Away to Prisoner and It's a Knockout!

"With more than 708,000 Aussies already using the site at launch*, it's clear the nation has a major appetite for the small screen and want the latest news on the best new shows or long-time favourites," says Brian Haverty, editorial director for TV.com. "Fans are no longer waiting for networks to catch up with their favourite programs - TV.com's global community is satisfying its craving for the latest news, plot twists, cast additions, scandals and dramas in their favourite shows - TV entertainment is now truly a global conversation".

Headlining TV.com's video content will be Sydney socialite and NIDA graduate Kate O'Shea as the face of TV.com Australia, keeping users up-to-date with the latest celebrity, show and industry news, straight from the red carpet. At launch, TV.com will debut Kate's interviews with major Australia stars including Damian Walshe-Howling, Rodger Corser, Callan Mulvey, Claire van der Boom, Henry Nixon and Gracie Otto to name just a few.

Complementing Kate's video work will be David Knox, long-time TV industry journalist and blogger who is the site's features editor and Melbourne correspondent. David has interviewed many leading Australian TV actors, writers, producers and executives including Margaret Pomeranz, Andrew G, Daniel McPherson, Phil Keoghan, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Bert Newton, Gretel Killeen, Tom Williams, John Safran, Judi McCrossin and more.

Kate and David are set to be making waves at local industry events and giving fans unequalled "behind the scenes" access with appearances and red-carpet coverage locked in for the iF Awards, AFI Awards and ARIAs before the year's end.

Offering a combination of locally produced and global video and editorial content, the site's content is built by its million plus worldwide user community every month. Dubbed the "wikipedia of the TV world", TV.com's users define episode reviews, show space content, actor profiles and fan forum discussions with more than 90 per cent of the site's content being by the readers.

Home to millions of fans contributing and connecting via their favourite shows, TV.com offers every TV fans' desire from program ratings and episode reviews to forum posts and blogs. To get involved in the discussion, visit www.tv.com.
