Jess joined the GameSpot team in February 2012. Her role involves collaborating with the team to create unique and exciting video content for GameSpot.
Jess abandoned a promising career in retail to begin the much less exciting job of playing video games and writing about them for money. She is currently in the process of completing her Media degree at Macquarie University. In the last three years, Jess has been tailoring a career-focused degree, where she is combining the worlds of computer game design, ancient history, psychology, philosophy, web design and French.
An avid adventure and RPG-focused gamer, Jess loves any game with a carefully constructed world and an impressive narrative. Her favourite games are The Longest Journey, Heavy Rain, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Jess has dabbled in creative writing and website design in her spare time and at university. She is extremely passionate about the progression of modern games towards the solid classification of "art" and the development of video games as a tool for displaying narrative. She supports the creation of games that serve as unique storytelling experiences.
As a result of being born in 1991, Jess has made it her life's purpose to revisit classic old-school games that she missed out on because she was busy learning to walk and enjoying the wonders of play dough.
