Additional Requirements

  • If CBS Interactive is hosting creative the appropriate clickTag must be embedded. More information here.
  • All Flash creatives should attempt to consume no more than 25% of users CPU resources on an average system.
  • All creatives must have a border.
  • The use of audio streams MUST be initiated by click with a clearly labeled "Audio on/off" button and must start in the off position.
  • Browser compatibility testing is the client's responsibility.
  • The use of video streams can be auto initiated ONLY after a polite/initial load and up to a maximum of 750kb. Larger or additional files must be initiated by click only, with clearly labeled 'Play' and 'Stop' buttons, and must start in the off position. More information here.
  • Expanding ads must conform to specifications found here.
  • All Flash creatives must be designed with a solid background color to avoid unwanted color conflicts with the displaying page.
  • All creative must function uniformly on both Mac and PC platforms as well as multiple versions of Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Mozilla.
  • CBS Interactive accepts Flash MX 2004 (7) and Flash Professional (8) file formats.
  • Flash creative must be compatible with ALL versions of Flash Player.

GIF/JPG: 2 business days prior to launch date
Flash: 5 business days prior to launch date

Notes:
CBS Interactive Australia requires a GIF or JPG to be served as the "default" for non-Flash users.

CBS Interactive Australia accepts rich media and 3rd party creative from the following vendors: Atlas, Doubleclick, Eyeblaster, Eyewonder, Facilitiate, Pointroll. If you wish to submit a creative from a different vendor, please email ads@zdnet.com.au and allow 7 days for testing and approval. Please note all 3rd party ad serving costs must be met by the agency or client unless previously agreed.
